Great Freaking Job

I don't know about the other guys, but I think it does capture the song, maybe not as well as it could have, but it's still really good. You should try doing some of the Sonic CD Tracks.

DrMackFoxx responds:

Ah! I would have to agree with your point. Thank you very much. :)

Sonic CD, eh? There was a lot of good music in both versions of that game's soundtrack (USA, Japan). I'll see what I can do.

This reminds me of....

Being a little boy, playing Sonic 2, and arguing countless times with my older sister of who should be Sonic. I still play this game every now and again, but I wish your version of the song was the one in the game, it just sounds more entertaining.

DrMackFoxx responds:

Ah, ha! Well, thank you very much for yet another review and I'm very happy that you enjoyed this track as well!

Go for the whole song!!!

Dude, you have a really nice start, go for the complete version of it, trust me, it will be so much better if you do, and I'm giving you a 9 now, just for the loop. I swear though, this sounds like it belongs in Megaman. Just think of a Wily final area in maybe one of the upcoming Megaman games. I'm sure that will make it so much easier to put together the track. Capcom usually give him some Epic tunes, and you could really out do them with this one if you finished it.

Good Song

This was a good production, I liked the arrangement a lot. It sounds like it belongs on Dance Dance Revolution. This is one of those songs that would be fun to play on because it wouldn't be that easy to keep up with the rhythm, but you'd get some really high scores.

Thebigdill responds:

Thanks! I love DDR ;)

Also this is the standard 140 BPM, so not fast.

It's the new Sith Theme!!!!

It's sounds really good. With the name Master vs. Apprentice though I get the thought of Star Wars in my head, a young Sith Lord has come to challenge for power. That's what I imagined this whole time, and guess who won? The Apprentice, he chopped off his Master's head with one finally swipe after a really difficult battle.

Decent Piece

It's not the best piece, but it's still a nice tune, though a bit soft for my liking. This would fit right into a Zelda game.

It's okay.

I really couldn't get into this one, but it was still interesting, I think I could probably learn something from the composition as a whole rather that the individual sections. This more or less just isn't my taste is all, but I'd say keep pushing for improvement.

This is a good composition.

To those below me who have little understanding of what makes this song good and why it made it to the top five, I'll give you a little insight. The peice was well put together. What you feel to be a misstep or that there is something lacking, makes this piece special. How do you think top producers start out? Lots of time, their work isn't appreciated for the true good it is. The person that said parts of it feel random, well, what do you think it takes to put together a good track, it doesn't all always just fall right into place, and I can tell just from listening to this track that there was a good amount of time put into it testing different sounds and trying different things. No, it's not the perfect track, but how many songs actually are? Sometimes people are limited in their resources as well, so please, if you don't like it, just say you don't like it and lave it at that. Whoever this was that posted right before me, dude, why belittle someone who is doing something with themselves? I've heard far far worse songs on here, and admittedly, some of my stuff it below the level of work that this song is. Next time people, try to uplift someone. not bring them down.

Cuzone responds:

Thank you so much! Finally someone who understands what Newgrounds is all about. Believe me, everybody, if I were Michael fucking Jackson I wouldn't be putting my hip-hop beats and melodies on Newgrounds, I'd be selling them to Sony for millions of dollars. I do this for the interest of learning, and yes, the piano on "random parts" is on purpose, and while people have the right to hate it, they don't have the right to call me a moron (or worse) for it. So my philosophy when it comes to this place is haters gonna hate, and fuck them, I'm gonna keep making music because I have fans and friends here and that's who I think about.

Beat Boxing Computer

It's a really good track, I'm glad I clicked on the Audio Portal today. Part of the song, mainly the section before the change up at 2:22 which starts up again at 3:23, it sounds like what a computer would do if it could beat box. I know that might not sound like a compliment, but it is, I swear to it, otherwise I wouldn't have rated you so high and voted 5. Keep up the work, it's inspiring, I'm not at that level of technical ability yet, but I will work hard to make it there and surpass it. Thanks for submitting this.

SmithCommaJohn responds:

Hey, a compliment's a compliment; no matter how cryptic. :)

Good Job

I know you didn't get to reduce the noise, but with that aside, it came out pretty nice. You're getting used to a new program too, which is cool, maybe we can collaborate sometime, once we are both used to the programs that we're using.

TristanLuigi responds:

:D Sure thing, but I never collab'd before, and I am not sure how it works. Plus, I use the demo version of FL Studio, and so I am not sure how saving/opening will work out. And I can't export aas MIDIs.

I'm working on a multitude of different things, but you'll mostly find me on Youtube under the channel name "The Game Idea Guy". I share my video game ideas and thoughts on a regular basis.
